~History~
(Without all the boring mumbo-jumbo of a real history class, you get to learn how Stareon's Hideout began.)

While BLURSH & Fexible really don't like history, they have--for the time being-- offered to tell about the history of Stareon's Hideout up to this point in time. Aren't they the most long-suffering webmistresses you've ever known? Anyway, here's the history compiled by BLURSH & Fexible. More history will be added as time goes on. So, study this now. There'll be a quiz later!

BLURSH's (long and meaningful) Overview:

BEFORE THE SITE WAS UP... Stareon was just a playful plushie toy in our imaginations. It was something we played with when we were bored. It wasn't until Fexible's awesome drawing skillz started to emerge that we decided to draw Stareon and then thought about making a website. But, even after Fex began drawing, it was really looking at other cool sites like EV and TCoD that inspired us. After talking to the awesome webmaster, The Jolt Master, of The Pokemon Tower, I discovered what HTML was and was intregued. A good friend of mine, who took web design for college, gave me his old HTML books and I began studying them. Eventually, I became familiar enough with them that I put together my first webpage which comprised of the character Little Eevee. The more I learned, the more advanced the pages became. More interesting and more fun!

Among some admirers of Stareon's Hideout are computer teachers. My cousin Pyro-chan (aka Saruno) showed Stareon's Hideout to her computer teacher at school and he loved the site so much he bookmarked it. I mean, c'mon, that's really cool! It was such a vote of confidence for me and the site. Such a vote of confidence that I decided, from June to August, to re-vamp the site. And, at the end of the re-vamp, my goal was to have Stareon's Hideout so absolutely awesome that everyone would love it! (Although, we didn't re-open in September, we are hoping that once we are open people will appreciate the hard work that went into the complete... total... super thorough re-vamp of the site.)

Now, that is kind of a far-fetched goal, but our mission statement has always been "Stareon's Hideout-- where magic begins" and that's just exactly what I want-- magic. Not Harry Potter or Lord Of The Rings magic, the sweet innocent kind that I've always loved-- imagination. The site was started on imagination, and I hope that's what it'll always run on. I continue to make it unique, special for Fex and me, and fun and meaningful for all visitors. It's more than a site of art, fanfic, games, and awards, Stareon's Hideout is a tribute to what Pokemon really stands for and what it means to us, the first generation fans that remember how much fun it was to go to school and trade cards with other classmates before everyone got "too old" and didn't care anymore. We shamelessly love Pokemon for what it was, what it is, and what it always will be. It was complete magic to us when we were 10 and it'll still be complete magic to us when we are 100. It's no doubt one of our most beloved cartoons ever. Fex and I love Pokemon because it represents friendship, hard-work, love, and courage, all those great things we want to have.

Thus, Stareon's Hideout's history is just that: a history of magic and adventure. We couldn't possibly tell you everything about Stareon's Hideout, you'll have to discover that on your own. We are different from other sites in the fact that we made the site for Kids and Adults to love. We want the site to be something that kids aren't ashamed of showing and sharing with their parents. Please, let your parents in. And, parents, let your kids love Pokemon for all it's worth. It's such a great creative thing for kids to love, and it's not bad in any way. You can take my word for it. Stareon's Hideout also has a lot of pages dedicated to helping kids in school and on the computer, stressing the importance of respecting others as well as working hard to achieve goals. We have an entire section called "The Help Station", which discusses a topics such as "How can I deal with Bullies & Gossip?" to "What is HTML?" "The Help Station" is a part of Stareon's Hideout's history and it represents what the webmistresses feel. We always want to help, whether it be in school or online. We want kids to succeed and never have to give up their creativity.

In a lot of ways, our history doesn't seem like a history at all. I remember history in school was so boring. Talking about Romans and Greeks and what happened in 1742 and blah-blah-blah-blah-blah. I didn't like history because I didn't feel it required any imagination. Maybe I'm wrong, but it was always so boring. Our history, though, is a chain of memories and a series of events. It's laughter and light-heartedness, singing and thinking, working and willing. Maybe it's just because it's our history, the fact that it happened to us, that makes it so much more interesting and special to me. It has a special place somewhere in my heart. Whether you agree or not isn't what's up for questioning. In fact, why are we talking about the history now? Let's see where Stareon's Hideout will be next! Please join us in the many chapters of life, through thick and thin, let's watch Stareon evolve. Let's watch history unfold. I have a feeling that Stareon's Hideout will be one of those places that you'll never forget... if you just give it some time.
